This course is for teachers who want to get up to speed and stay ahead of the latest technology trends in education. You will be looking to gain a better understanding of active digital citizenship and digital literacy and be keen to learn how to incorporate these ideas into your teaching.

This is an intensive professional training course for teachers who want to get up to speed and stay ahead of the latest technology trends in education. You will be looking to gain a better understanding of active digital citizenship and digital literacy and be keen to learn how to incorporate these ideas into your teaching.

Format

This AI and Digital Tools in Education course is a one-week course consisting of 20 lessons, plus 5 integrated off-site activities or excursions as part of an extensive cultural and social programme.

Course Aims

  • Gain practical strategies and skills for incorporating AI and digital tools into your lesson planning and teaching.
  • Learn how to efficiently create engaging teaching resources.
  • Discover practical strategies for making the most of ChatGPT and other AI tools both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Develop an awareness of digital citizenship and how to promote this in your lessons.
  • Establish contacts between teachers from a variety of education systems and facilitate future networking.

Methodology

This is a practical course which uses real teaching and learning examples. Teachers completing the course will return home with immediate, practical ideas to implement in their own teaching practice.

Participants are expected to actively participate in the workshops, reflecting on their own beliefs and practice, and sharing thoughts, ideas and expertise in pair work, small groups and with the class as a whole.

During the course, participants will also take part in a range of activities where they will be encouraged to develop their language skills in a more informal environment outside the classroom and further enhance their knowledge of contemporary Ireland and Malta.

For group bookings (minimum 7 people), to ensure your course meets your development objectives, the schedule of sessions on every course is drawn up and agreed with each group of participants and Erasmus Plus coordinators on the basis of pre-course training needs analysis questionnaires.

Follow Up

Participants on the course are encouraged to keep in contact, sharing materials and experiences when back in their own classrooms. Follow-up contact is made with the participants after completion of the course to gather feedback on the effectiveness of the classroom activities presented and on how their teaching practice has been developed.
