Atlas Junior Clare is based in Ennis, a lively, safe and welcoming town known for its traditional Irish culture.
Our junior summer programmes have a dual focus: boosting English language skills and creating unforgettable experiences. Students choose the arts or sports programme, so every student finds something they love. The programme also explores the highlights of the West of Ireland, including Galway, the Aran Islands, Limerick and the Cliffs of Moher.

Arts or sports: choose your programme
Both programmes include 20 English lessons a week, a half-day excursion, a full-day excursion every Saturday and two evening activities a week. Students choose how they spend their activity afternoons.
JP20 Arts
Junior Fluency & Arts
For students who prefer the humanities to sports. It encourages creativity, social interaction, confidence and speaking skills, and over two weeks students prepare for a grand finale talent show!

JP20 Sports
Junior Fluency & Sports
For active students who enjoy trying different sports while meeting peers from other countries. It encourages teamwork and communication, with a two-week tournament that ends with semi-finals and finals on the last day.

What a typical week looks like
Each day combines a half-day of English classes with a half-day of arts, sports or an excursion. Here are two example weeks, one on each programme.
Students living in town walk to school; those staying in the countryside are driven by their host family. Maximum journey about 30 minutes.

What age does my child need to be?
Atlas Junior Clare is for students aged 11 to 17. Students aged 16–20 can also look at our Young Adults Programme.
When does the programme run?
The programme runs from 28 June to 9 August 2027, with arrivals on Mondays. The minimum stay is 2 weeks, and extra weeks can be added.
Should my child choose Arts or Sports?
Both include 20 English lessons a week and the same excursions. JP20 Arts suits creative students: video-making, graffiti, music, drama, photography and a grand finale talent show. JP20 Sports suits active students: soccer, rugby, basketball, baseball, self-defence and Irish sports, with a two-week tournament.

In Ennis, County Clare, a lively and safe town on Ireland's west coast, known for its traditional Irish culture.

Which airport should my child fly to?
Shannon Airport is the closest, and a one-way transfer costs €60. We can also arrange transfers from Knock, Cork or Kerry (€275), or from Dublin (€350 private, or €125 with a group, based on availability).
What happens at weekends?
Every Saturday is a full-day excursion, for example to Galway or the Aran Islands.
Can my child try watersports?
Yes, new for 2027. Surfing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding can be added as optional extras, booked in sessions.
What happens in the evenings?
Two evening activities a week are included, such as a themed disco. On other evenings students relax with their host family, and up to two extra evening activities a week can be added (€30 each).
Can special diets be catered for?
Yes. Specific food requirements (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, etc.) can be catered for with a supplement of €40 per week.
How big are the classes?
A maximum of 15 students per class.

Yes. Group prices are available on request, including transfers and a free Group Leader place.
