Everyone knows the usual spots – Howth, Phoenix Park etc. etc., and they are wonderful places to walk, but Dublin also has a few hidden tracks and paths that no one should miss.

  1. The River Liffey to the west of Dublin – take a walk by the river, watch the rowers on Saturday and Sunday morning, have pint in Chapelizod, or enjoy the memorial park.  Lined by tress and boatclubs this is a gorgeous part of the river, 10 minutes from the city centre, and best seen in sunlight.   width=

2.  Henrietta Street in the north inner city has the oldest examples of Dublin’s Georgian architecture. width= width=3.  The Royal Canal – just get there and walk west, as far as you can go (don’t forget to turn back long before you get tired, or you won’t have the energy to get home).  And, don’t go too far; you could end up halfway across the country! width=Leave a comment and let us know your favourite Dublin walks.
