More than a summer course
Our Young Adults Programme is for students aged 16 to 20 who want more than a typical summer course.
It combines international classes, practical learning about sustainability and life skills, and the option to gain real-world work experience. You'll study with students from around the world, explore topics from climate change to career planning, and experience the culture and city life of Dublin or Liverpool.

Both courses include afternoon Sustainability & Future Skills classes, 2 evening activities a week and a full-day excursion every Saturday. You choose how to spend your mornings.

Sustainability & Future Skills + Activities
Cultural, social and fun local experiences, from Irish dancing and Beatles tours to football stadiums, museums and bowling.

Sustainability & Future Skills + Work Placement
Swap your 2 weekly half-day excursions for a part-time work placement in a local organisation, usually in customer-facing roles such as charity shops, cafés and hospitality. Gain practical experience and build communication, time-management and independence skills.

Students under 18
Many of our young adults are 16 or 17, and their welfare is our first priority.
Students get an Atlas induction on arrival, a welcome pack with all the information they need, and support from our team throughout their stay. Our safeguarding policies apply to every student under 18 in Dublin and Liverpool.
Parental consent: for students under 18, a parent or guardian needs to complete our parental consent form before arrival.

Who is the Young Adults Programme for?
Students aged 16 to 20 who want more than a typical summer course: English classes on sustainability and future skills, plus either an activity programme or a part-time work placement.
When does it run in 2027?
From 28 June to 16 August 2027, in both Dublin and Liverpool.
What level of English do I need?
The Activities course is open to levels A1 to C1. For the Work Placement course you need at least a B1 level. You can take our free online placement test before you book.
What kind of work placement will I do?
Placements are usually in customer-facing roles in local organisations, such as charity shops, cafés and hospitality venues. They take place on weekday mornings, instead of the two half-day excursions.
Where will I stay?
Students aged 16+ can stay in a single room with a host family (half board), which is included in the price. From 17 you can choose a residence: Brickfield Lane in Dublin or Benson Yard in Liverpool; Atlas Residence Rathmines in Dublin is for students aged 18+. Residences are self-catering and have a weekly supplement.
What is included in the price?
The course, 2 half-day activities or a work placement (with supplement), 2 evening activities a week, a full-day excursion every Saturday, a single room with a host family, a travel pass, all course materials and an end-of-course certificate.
